PROMISE 29 – COMPASSION

PROMISE 29 – COMPASSION

Now it shall come to pass, when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, and you return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you.—Deuteronomy 30:1-3
COMPASSION is sympathetic love-love that feels the pain of another person. We have all faltered and failed in life and suffered the consequences. But according to this verse, if we return to God, He will have compassion on us and on our children.
The God of Abraham also promised that if His people returned to Him, they and their children would be “treated with compassion” by those who took them captive (2 Chron. 30:9). One great display of compassion was when Pharoah’s daughter found the baby Moses in a basket floating down the Nile. “She had compassion on him,” and he became her adopted son (Exod. 2:6). If this dual promise is given to erring yet repentant believers, how much more will it manifest for those who are consistent in serving God!
PRAYER DECLARATION
Lord God, I repent of all my shortcomings and areas of failure. I return to You will all my heart and recommit myself to Your purpose. I believe You will honor Your Word, showing compassion to me and to my child Joshua, I also believe that You will even cause others to show compassion toward us, because we are submitted to You. In the name of Jesus, amen (LET IT BE SO)!
